YD25′s replacement D40 Navara R51 Pathfinder Solid Cast 15KG Flywheel is manufactured from nodular cast iron. Nodular cast iron is the best material to use in a flywheel where the vehicle is used for every day use. Compared with billet steel a flywheel made from nodular cast iron dissipates heat better, is unlikely to get blue or hot spots and has better grip on the clutch plate. The flywheel is fully machined giving it a quality of finish that is unequaled by any other cast flywheel on the market. The ring gear and the crank angle pick up are pressed onto the flywheel. The flywheel is balanced to within 1 gram tolerance by Grant at Brisbane Engine Balancing. The Solid Nodular Iron Flywheel weighs 14 to 15.5kg. The D40 Navara and the R51 Pathfinder YD25 engines are "revy" engines. Fitting of this flywheel allows the vehicle to accelerate at the same speed as the original flywheel.
This flywheel is best suited to the owner that wants similar engine performance characteristics to OE.

This flywheel has most surfaces machined which gives it a quality finish better than other cast flywheel on the market. The ring gear and crank angle pick up are press fitted to the flywheel. The flywheel is balanced to with in 1 gram tolerance by Grant at Brisbane Engine Balancing. The flywheel weighs 20 to 20.5kg. The D40 Navara and the R51 Pathfinder YD25 engines are "revy" engines. Fitting of this flywheel will slightly sedate the engine as it is the heaviest flywheel in our range however being the heaviest it is the best choice when a lot of towing is done. This Solid Cast Flywheel is best suited to the fleet owners who want to slightly sedate the vehicles performance and where the vehicle is used for a lot of towing.
This flywheel is best suited for fleet and heavy towing. It has the highest inertia and will keep the clutch plate cooler.

At YD25.com.au we have developed the extreme clutch cover for the Nissan Navara and Pathfinder. This clutch cover has a clamp pressure of 1,400 kg (3,100 lb) compared to most aftermarket heavy duty clutch covers which have a clamp of 1,250 kg (2,800 lb). Our clutch cover has 40% more clamp than standard. The clutch cover has a nodular iron friction plate with a burst speed of 10,000 rpm. A properly balanced clutch cover reduces vibration. Our clutch covers are balanced by Grant from Brisbane Engine Balancing. We have balance weights made that are as low as 5 grams which allows the balance of the clutch cover to be within 3 grams.

The above clutch plate was designed for the Thailand D40 models from 2012. It was designed for use with a solid flywheel. The clutch plate is very similar to the D22 clutch plate used from 2000 on. The only visual difference is that it has slightly heavier springs to handle the higher torque of the D40 engine. It gives quite operation at idle and when driving.
